DESCRIPTION:The Jackson County Public Library will join the nation in celebrating the Great American Eclipse! This is the first eclipse since 1257 A.D. to touch only American soil. Visit the Seymour\, Crothersville\, or Medora libraries for this historic event on Monday\, August 21.\n\n1 pm Eclipse begins\n\n\n\n1:30 pm Music (Seymour and Crothersville only)\n\n\n2 pm Medora Library opens\n\n \n\n2:26 pm Maximum Totality - 93.8%\n\n \n\nThe library will provide eclipse glasses for the viewing for the participants of this program only\, while supplies last. Participants will need to provide their own lawn chairs.\n\n \n\nThe program is free and open to all ages. Please remember never to view the sun without protective eyewear. Sunglasses are not safe for looking at the eclipse.\n\n* Safe viewing glasses must have the ISO reference number 12312-2.\n\n* The eclipse may safely be viewed through a welder's helmet only if it is number 14 welder's glass or darker. If you can see the landscape through a helmet\, the glass is not safe for viewing.\n\n* The library will distribute viewing glasses during our solar eclipse viewing event\, August 21\, beginning at 1 pm.
